You would think I would learn by now

I totally jinxed myself by blogging about Jude's sleeping patterns. He and Noah verified that last night by both being awake most of the night. It is going to be a very long day!

Visitors

We were lucky enough to have visitors for the recent Thanksgiving holiday. Shawn, Regina, Jack and Emma came down to see baby Jude and celebrate Thanksgiving with us. We had a great day and enjoyed dinner with Lois and Don. Noah loved playing with his cousins and was so excited that they were here he did not go to bed until midnight the first night! Luckily, he has been managing earlier bedtimes since then. Jude has been sleeping two 4 hour stretches the past 2 nights- hopefully he will keep it up!
We are scheduled to have his hearing re-evaluated Thursday afternoon. We will keep everyone updated with the results.

Show off your Fanhood

For all my Georgia Tech friends (or their friends, hint hint). My friend Elizabeth Howes has added some new items to her business, Side Stiches.

She has a new GT themed line to her collection, that is sure to make you and your child look like the most loyal and fashionable fans at your next tail gating or sports watching party.

Baby Steps

Ben went to some tech meeting tonight and I was left alone to figure out how to manage the night time routine by myself. To be honest, I totally expected him to come home to pure chaos. This expectation was based on the fact that the evenings over the last week have been nothing but chaos- and he has been here. To sum things up, Noah has just gotten over his first stomach bug (and we're not talking spit-up anymore, this was the real deal) and Jude has been requiring HOURS of rocking/walking/shushing starting around 5 in the evening.
Somehow though, I am sitting here without a baby in my lap, typing this post! Noah was bathed and in bed on time (7:30)! Jude sat in the swing while I did that and did not fuss! Then, Jude fell asleep after only 20 minutes of rocking and allowed me lay him down without waking! Yes, I know there are bigger accomplishments that may be more worthy of so many exclamation points in one paragraph- but we are taking baby steps in our life right now!
That's all for now- I hear a baby crying.

Day at the park

Noah, Sherry and I love to take walks to Stockton and play on their playground. I think it is good for a couple of reason:

- When he goes to school there he will be more comfortable playing on the playground and will be able to stand up to the playground bully
- They just got a new set, so it feels all clean and nice
- It is a good distance away from our house so it is an enjoyable walk

Once again, loving the camera. Took 200 pictures today.

Why spend $600 on a camera?

Sherry and I have been wanting a new digital camera for a long time. We have been using a Kodak EasyShare for the past year. And to put it simply, it is a piece. We love our non-digital SLR, the Canon Rebel, so in order to optimize our lenses our thinking was that we would get the same model in a digital camera, just to make sure that there are no issues.

$600 is no chump change to drop on a camera, so we were a little hesitant to pull the trigger. But as you will hopefully see in the improved images on the site, it is well worth the money. I have already taken over 100 photos today, and OMG am I loving this camera.

I no longer have to wait 2 seconds before the camera responds to my request to take the picture, and the quality is far superior, and I am also trying to learn to do some "fancy camera stuff" that requires knowing about the aperture and shutter speed and stuff.

Hope you enjoy:

Thrilling Halloween

As you can tell from the picture, we weren't sure how our first Halloween as a family of four was going to go. In the beginning, Noah was not very thrilled about his Elmo costume- and Jude was not in the mood for an outfit change. But after we explained to Noah that he would get candy if he wore the costume, he was totally into being Elmo. Dad took Noah for a walk around the block to Trick or Treat and Mom stayed home with Jude. We had planned to hand out candy, but we didn't take into consideration that our roofers would work until after dark (yes, we are getting a new roof). After a long walk around the block, we headed to Daddy John and Noushin's and everyone got to stay up way past their bedtimes! Overall it turned out to be a great Halloween.
