Christmas Eve 2010

We went to the children's service on Christmas Eve at church again this year. It is such a neat tradition at our church that the children can dress up as one of the characters from the Christmas story and they all parade to the front during their part. Noah decided he would dress up as one of the Wise Men and Jude was Joseph.

Everyone in costume, ready to go!

Noah anxiously awaiting his part!

Eli, Emily, Jude and Noah after their award winning performances. Emily's decision to be Mary totally solidified Jude's decision to play the role of Joseph.

An Early Christmas

Aunt Leigh and Uncle Frank decided to come all the way from Alaska to celebrate Christmas early with us. Sarah, Heidi and Bodie joined in on the fun. We had such a good time with everyone here and the boys especially loved playing with cousin Bodie. We didn't do such a great job of taking photos while they were here, we were too busy having fun! We hope you all come back really soon to visit!

Pumpkin Carving

Dad got back from his week of traveling, just in time to carve pumpkins!

Pumpkins guts are gross!!

The kids were interested for about 5 minutes, but Dad continued on. Everyone was happy with the final product!

Paper Boat Regatta 2010

You might remember that last year we joined Noah and Jude's friends Kirby and Roe to sail paper boats. We decided to continue the tradition and sail our paper boats again- it looks like we may have started a tradition. The boys have so much fun setting the boats in the creek and watching them float away. Roe was big enough this year to join in on the fun!

G O A L!!

Here is Noah scoring a goal at this morning's game. We couldn't be more proud! :)

Wonders of Learning to Read

Learning to read has opened up an entirely new world for Noah. Mostly he is interested in what all of the signs on the road say. We will be driving along and he will blurt out "No Turn on Red" and "Green Light Must Yield to Traffic". The funniest came today... we were getting ready to go on a bike ride and he was in the driveway getting his helmet on. He screamed "Hey Mom, did you know my helmet was Made in CHINA?!?!"

Soccer!

Noah is playing soccer this season and Dad is the coach. We had our first practice Tuesday evening and almost everyone had a great time. Noah was a little hungry and complained/cried the entire time because his tummy hurt. Next time we'll remember he needs a snack beforehand. Can't wait for our first game!

First Day of School

This morning was the first day of school for Noah and Jude. They were both super excited! They were all smiles on our way to school.

Noah ran right into school and barely said goodbye to us. He was so happy to see a lot of his friends from last school year. Jude was not too thrilled about his new classroom or teacher. He was screaming when I left him, but everyone was all smiles when I picked them up.

We have been having a blast this week hanging out with Aunt Sarah, Aunt Heidi and Cousin Bodie. Monday we spent the morning at the beach and the pool. The boys had so much fun (the adults did too)!

Square Dancing with Jude!

Jude loved the night of square dancing at camp! Noah did not- in fact, he completely lost it when it was time for him and Daddy to go down the middle. Here is a video of Jude having a blast dancing with Uncle Shawn and Jack.

Family Camp 2010

We spent 4 days at Camp Greenville's family camp earlier this week. It was such a wonderful experience for all of us! Uncle Shawn, Aunt Regina, Jack and Emma met us there and we had so much fun. This was the camp where Dad spent his summers as a child and he was so excited that we all wanted to visit it with him. We got to swim in the lake, canoe, shoot rifles and bow & arrows, play horseshoes, hike, go tubing, roast marshmallows and go to a square dance. We also got to watch the sun rise one morning at the camp's chapel, Pretty Place- and it was amazing! We opted to just do the half week option this year- since Mom had never been to camp before and Jude is only 2- but we are ready for the full week next summer!
