Pre-Crawl
Noah is almost able to crawl but not quite there. Here is a video of his current progress... don't worry, Bells didn't get hurt during this scene, but she was waiting for her stunt cat to arrive.

6 Month Inspection
We took Noah to the doctor this morning for his 6 month appointment. He now weighs 20 pounds and is 29 inches long. The doctor was impressed with his sitting skills and babbling- and was not so impressed with his sleeping skills. He recommended that we attempt the "cry it out" method. According to the doc, we are supposed to let him cry for however long it takes for him to fall back asleep. Maybe 30 minutes, 60 minutes or even 90 minutes!! Ben was ecstatic to hear the doctor make this recommendation. He's been eager to let Noah cry it out since birth. I am still on the fence about the whole thing. The doctor also recommended that we go ahead and lower the crib mattress to its lowest setting. He gave me the visual of Noah learning to stand up while "crying it out" and then falling out of the crib. Ben is going to adjust the crib as soon as he's done with work.

Splashin' Fun
We bought Noah his own pool this weekend! Dad and Noah both enjoyed it Saturday afternoon- well one of them enjoyed it more than the other mainly because of space issues. We also had Noah's 6 month pictures taken this weekend. The proofs turned out great and we can pick them up in a few weeks.

Restful Night
Last night Noah slept through the night. Well, he slept from 10:00 until 5:00. For those of you who are not quick with the math, that is 7 hours without eating!! Which means that I actually slept for 7 consecutive hours, the longest I have slept in 6 months!! This is reason to celebrate in our house.
The only other time that he has done anything even similar to this was on day 4... he slept from 12:00 am to 5:00 am and we were convinced that our baby was going to sleep through the night every night. Boy were we wrong!
It hasn't been THAT bad though.. when he does wake up he normally just nurses for a few minutes and goes right back to bed. The only annoying thing is that recently he has started doing this 3 or 4 times a night when previously he was only waking once or twice. Oh, it is also annoying when people give you that look of shock when you say your 6 month old does not sleep through the night. The reality is that I will probably miss those night feedings when they completely stop because that will be one more sign that Noah is growing up.
But for now, we are happy with the one night of 7 hours of sleep. Maybe it will happen again tonight, maybe it won't. Regardless, we still have the best baby in the world :)

Noah Talks about the Beach
If you listen closely you can make out Noah saying, "Hey Da Da, take me to the beach, I want to go peeps some hotties in their bikinis." Well at least that is what a trained parent's ear hears.

Home from Cali
I am home from California. For those that don't know I have changed jobs. Going to work for Koders, which was started by a fraternity brother of mine. Very excited.
But enough about me... can we please talk about how funny this picture is.

Toes for Dinner
Noah has been trying all sorts of new foods recently, even his toes! He likes vegetables much more than fruit- although he will tolerate bananas and pears. His favorites by far are carrots, squash and sweet potatoes.
Dad is still in California and is supposed to return tomorrow night. It will be nice to have us all home again together- it has been way too long!
I am hosting playgroup at my house this Friday.... I'll try to post pictures of all the kids!

We're Home
We made it home from our Virginia visit on Sunday. Dad left for California that same day, so we are on our own this week. We got to spend lots of time with family while we were in town- it was great! Noah impressed everyone with his sitting skills and charming personality :) We even got to see Aunt Leigh as she drove through town on her way to Delaware. We posted pictures from our trip- so be sure to check them out.
Emma Claire's Birthday
Emma Claire was born last Wednesday, July 26th. Noah lost his crown as the "baby" in the family after 5 short months!
