Lily turns one!

We're only a month late posting the details from Lily's first birthday!
But first she was 11 months!
We went with an owl theme for her birthday party and the cakes turned out great!  We had some family and friends over for the afternoon the celebrate.  Lily didn't quite know what to make of everywhere there to celebrate her!

She was pretty excited to see the princess hat we had for her. Although she wasn't interested in wearing it!

Lots of little people there to show Lily how birthday parties are done!
She loved the icing on her cake.  She never even made it to the inside of the cake.  She figured out that she could dip her paci in the icing and suck on it!   Happy Birthday Lily!

Lily: 10 Months

I'm actually posting on time this month!  Lily has 2 teeth now and can crawl anywhere she wants to go! It's quite different with her being mobile.  Noah and Jude are learning to put their toys away if they don't want them eaten.  She naps just twice a day now and likes to be in bed for the night around 6:30.  Her most talked about characteristic, by far, is her hair. It stands straight up, no matter what we do to it.  Everywhere we go people comment on her duck fuzz hair.  She's a great eater and loves to try whatever we are eating.

Lily: 9 Months

Late once again this time, but I'll try to fill in the gaps. At 9 months, Lily can get into the sitting position on her own now. It's quite different to go get her from the crib and find her sitting up and playing. She's close to crawling and finally is starting to get her 2 bottom teeth. She's still taking 3 naps a day, but getting close to cutting out that catnap before dinner.

Christmas 2012

Better late than never, right? Part of the problem with getting this post together has been that our camera broke on Christmas eve, so we don't have many pictures from the holidays! Despite our camera breaking, we did have a great Christmas filled with family and friends. We celebrated Christmas eve with Grandma and Papa before church.
Jude was very excited about his large present- an air hockey table!
Lily was mostly interested in the wrapping paper and bows, but she did take a moment to appreciate the Raggedy Ann doll she received. After opening presents with Grandma and Papa, we headed to Christmas eve service at church. Both boys dressed up as shepherds this year.
After church, we had dinner with our friends Ruthie and Edward. Then it was time to head home and open one gift (new pajamas) and get ready for Santa!
Christmas morning came early... but considering we had to catch a mid-morning flight to Virginia, we didn't mind.
After opening all of our presents, we hurried out the door to the airport to spend a week with family in Virginia. It was a whirlwind of a morning, but fun!

It's Beginning to look a lot like Christmas...

We've been busy getting ready for Christmas! The boys have been out of school all week and we kept ourselves entertained with play dates, making gingerbread houses, wrapping presents and baking cookies.
I think we are ready for Santa to make his appearance!

Lily: 7 months

Lily's 7 months old now! She can sit up and rolls all around to get where she wants. She's still a great napper during the day and sometimes wakes once during the night. She doesn't have any teeth yet, but loves to try new foods. She is a very talkative baby- especially when other people are trying to talk!

Happy Thanksgiving 2012

We celebrated Thanksgiving with the McDonald family at Grandma's house. Aunt Leigh and Uncle Frank drove down from Alabama and visited for a few days. It was a great holiday and Lily's first Thanksgiving. We have so much to be thankful for! Noah decided to dress up as a pilgrim for the day.
The weather was perfect and we got to enjoy dinner outside at Grandma's house.
Lily enjoyed hanging outside and watching the big kids (and maybe some adults) play baseball and kickball all afternoon!
Aunt Leigh got plenty of quality time with Lily.
Thanks Grandma and Papa for hosting us!
