Still no progress

Went for my weekly checkup yesterday. Unfortunately, I still have not dilated at all. We have another appointment next Tuesday (our due date) and if I haven't gone into labor by then, we will schedule an induction for later in the week. So, if nothing else, we will most likely have a new baby by next Friday! Crazy, huh?

Visitors (aka Helping Hands)

Today we were notified who our first post-Noah visitors are going to be! Shawn, Regina and Jack are scheduled to come visit February 18-21. We are looking forward to the help and advice that I am sure they are going to provide. Anyone else interested in cooking/cleaning/midnight feedings? Let us know!
My mom and sister are coming to visit this weekend...it looks like my mom may start chemotheraphy again next week, so we have scheduled this weekend for her to come visit and see our new house. And who knows- maybe Noah will make an early arrival while she is here! If we could only get so lucky:)

DoctorS

Monday we went to the doctor for my weekly check up- still no progress. Once again they did a sonogram to check Noah's position- he is still head down. Every time I go to the doctor they think that his butt is his head and that he has flipped, and every time they are wrong. They keep telling me he has a boney butt :) I also had my first internal exam and found out that I haven't dilated at all. I go back on Monday for my next appointment.
Today we had our first appointment with Noah's pediatrician- which happens to be in the same practice that Ben went to as a child. I was a little confused about what we were supposed to talk to her about during this "consultation"- but she was really great and guided us through the meeting. Basically she told us the policies and procedures of the practice and what we have to look forward to once Noah is here.
Tonight we have our last childbirth class. Ben was scheduled to be out of town but was able to rearrange his schedule to be here for the class. After we finish tonight all we have left to do is WAIT....

Only a few more weeks...

Things have been a little busy here... so sorry for the lack of posts. We only have a few more weeks to go and we are very anxious. We had another baby shower last weekend- thanks Mary and Genie! We got a lot of great items and our nursery is very well stocked. I have washed all of Noah's little clothes and bedding. We even got the carseat out and have become familiar with how it works. All we are waiting on is a crib! Supposedly it will be here on the 19th- I'll let you know how that works out. I am really looking forward to setting up Noah's room.
We went to the doctor on Monday- she did a sonogram and told us that Noah has positioned himself head down, but that he had not "dropped". She said we were no where close to going into labor- And not to come back for 2 weeks! So we are just waiting...

Week 37

Babies come to term anywhere between 38 and 42 weeks--your 40-week due date simply marks the midpoint of this period. By the end of this week, your little one will be officially "on time" whenever she makes her entry into the world. In preparation for birth, most babies have moved into the head-down, back-facing position that's ideal for labor. However, she may be also be "sunny-side up," (head down, facing front--can often be delivered vaginally), breech (with feet or buttocks closest to the birth canal), or even lying crosswise in the uterus. If this is the case, and your doctor is unable to shift her position, you may be a candidate for a cesarean section.
